The undergrounding of the Railway Corridor in Sepolia concerns the construction of a four-lane railway corridor with a total length of 2.36 km, of which approximately 1.5 km are completely underground.
The project includes 2 new pedestrian crossings on Xanthippis Street and Xenou Street, and 2 buildings for the service of electromechanical installations.
The construction starts from the exit of the Athens Railway Station to Thessaloniki and ends at the Three Bridges in the area of Sepolia of the Municipality of Athens.
The project has a budget of 66.58 million euros and is expected to contribute to the improvement of the environmental footprint of the railway line in the undergrounding area and at the same time will increase the capacity and dynamics of the network.
The project is expected to be completed in 2023.
